Ah, well, it was enough for feeling bad for himself. He had the rest of his life ahead of him to skulk about it in his mind. It wasn't like he was the only orphan in the world who felt unloved... just look at Voldemort. At least Logan didn't turn out like that mess. Sure, Logan would smoke heavily and had been addicted to cocaine in the past (though he keeps some in his flat, just in case he decided to use it again), been through withdrawls, called the tin man by many people, and faked his death for his brother, but really, he wasn't quite as screwed up as Voldemort had been. Then again, Logan didn't know that Voldemort had loved in the past. It was useless information anyways. Anything useless was booted out and the room was used for other things.
Logan wasn't without his problems. He was a squib, first and foremost, and diagnosed as insane by some muggle hospitals when he was captured a couple times over the past many years. Sometimes Logan just let himself get captured because it would be fun to find a way to escape. But anyways, he had been stuck in an asylum for all of two days before he got bored of the place and left. His insanity not only included the words that appeared around people inside of his head, but also occasional psychotic episodes where he would hear a loud drumming in his head, and Logan would go bonkers. He even cut an ear off one time because the sound was so bothersome to him (which Madame Pomfrey, thankfully, was able to heal back on as it was removed by a knife and not dark magic).
Logan took the notebook and flipped through it, memorizing the pages quickly thanks to his impeccable photographic memory. Once he had finished flipping around, he opened it to the second page and studied the equations on the page. "I've seen this one before," Logan said, mostly to himself, but loud enough Liz could hear him. His brother had it on his whiteboard in his house before. Logan, unfortunately, was getting punched in the face at the time so he had no time to ask him what it meant. Logan looked up at Liz for a moment. "I think your friend was getting quite close to finishing his charm." Logan set the notebook down. "I believe Mr. McKellen was indeed taken. I think its time we have a talk with some of our suspects. Perhaps pay a visit to my dear old brother."
Logan was now thinking there was a possibility that someone who did not want the charm had stopped the young man. The notes weren't very complete, even though Logan didn't understand them very well, and those who wanted the spell would wait until he was done to take him. However, there was still a strong possibility that it was some of the Neo-Death Eaters, or someone who really wanted to bring back the death for some reason or another, not prevent the spell's completion. But why now, if he wasn't finished with the spell?
